Khakis with Brown vs. Black Shoes.

I start work tomorrow. Business casual dress code.

I'm planning on switching off between wearing khakis and slacks to work. As a douchebag college kid, I always wear khakis; however, I normally wear them with sperries (obviously, I won't be wearing sperries to work). Are burgundy shoes with khakis too monotoned, or does it work? Alternatively, do black shoes and khakis look awkward together?

Obviously, this is not the most pressing of topics; nevertheless, any insight is greatly appreciated.
