London PE recruiting - wait for HH to reach out or proactive approach?

I'm currently in contact with a couple of HH for lateral PE recruiting in London/Western Europe. They contacted me after I dropped my resume on Linkedin.
In general, for London PE recruiting at analyst/associate level, is it more common for HH to contact you directly or should I drop my CV on the various HH websites?

Anytime tip is welcomed :)
