Networking Question - Giving a call?
Hi guys. Quick networking question. I met a banker the other day at a bar after work hours (happy hour). I'm currently an intern at another bank. When he left her gave me his business card. Pretty good meeting we had. Emailed him a couple days later saying hey it was good to meet, blah blah .. No reply from him. Should I give him a call in a week or so what should I do? Don't want to come off as needy or annoying.
I would say no. If he responds, great. If he doesn't, leave it be. Responding too quickly is not a good thing (it's like meeting someone and then getting a facebook request from them an hour later). A bit creepy. Give it a month or two or reach out whenever you actually need this person's help.. At that time, he'll be more than happy to reconnect with you.
Wait. I've had people respond after 5 weeks because they're just busy and don't get around to it until one day they're clearing out their inbox and see a flagged email from me they meant to respond to.
