NYU Stern incoming freshman
Hi! I'm an incoming freshman at nyu stern hoping to break into investment banking in the coming years. From what I've heard, stern is a low target/semi target when it comes to landing jobs at BB's/EB's ( I know stern has the second most raw numbers but competition is way higher than other top 20 schools). I was wondering what can I do to get ahead of the 500 other people gunning for the 40 spots that BB's have allocated for nyu stern? I've started on some basic finance courses but I'm trying to get into the top clubs such as IAG, Finance society, etc.
Thanks
Idk why but a lot of stern kids are very annoying. Try to not be like them
wow
Congrats on the acceptance. Yeah, Stern is a target, but it’s also very competitive. Ironically though, the kids that do best in recruiting are the least cutthroat ones, so try to be like them. So don’t go in with the wrong mindset. You’re not “competing” against “500” kids for “40” spots at BBs. First, fewer kids than that apply (~300-350), and second, Stern sends way more than 40 people to BBs/EBs every year. So don’t be too focused on the competition and instead prioritize your own personal development and growth. At the end of the day, Stern grads all get great high-paying jobs, otherwise the median/average starting salary wouldn’t be so high. So just focus on doing your best and you’ll end up somewhere great
thanks so much, I appreciate it
