One Small Email Pt.2
A few months back, I wrote this.... One Small Email Pt.1
After I had an over the phone interview, due to being out of state for college, I got the internship offer, approximately for 8 weeks, 30~40 hrs/week, paid.
I could not be more happy, as I knew that reaching for this internship was a long shot. This firm is definitely out of my league, and it will be a huge challenge for me. My first year in college, I have hardly learned anything besides some basic finance and excel techniques. I am not entirely sure what I will be doing during the internship. The CFO stressed that she did not want me making coffee roundhouse and running errands, so she said she will be putting me on a project for the 8 weeks and seeing what I can do during the mean time. The investment bank focuses on retail RE, so shopping centers and individual retail B&M stores. They broker the sales.
Finally, this would have been a more difficult task if it wasn't for y'all. WSO really helped me focus on what I wanted and reading through all the material, I was better able to realize what I was looking for and how I could achieve it.
For those of you still looking for internships: I met the CEO when I was doing cold door-to-door sales inside my gated community. He probably hates soliciting but loved seeing how ambitious I was at the age of 19- to be selling windows for my own company. Crazy connections happen in weird ways.
