Politics crazy New Yorker interested in the world of Finance!
Hey!
My name is Larry Feldman and before I went on this site i had no idea what (BB) stood for or what "Front Office" referred to.
I've spent a few days lurking and wanted to introduce myself.
I'm currently attending Baruch College in NYC as a Sophmore, thinking about majoring in Finance. My first thought was to major in Computer Information Systems, so I got myself a paid internship working for a small IT firm in Manahttan, but soon came to realize that this didn't really peak my interest. I have a friend who's in the world of finance and everything he did seemed really interesting.
I've always been addicted to politics, current events and world history and have started my incursion into economics. Rightfully so, I looked at finance and started doing some research. I put $300 on a Robinhood account and started messing around there (After roughly 2 months I've lost about $20).
I also co-founded a startup called The Fourth Branch that aims to connect voters to Congress by providing summaries of congressional legislation and allowing users to vote on the bills. Then we compare how you voted with your congressman and senators so that you can see if they're voting for your best interests. On the other hand we would provide proprietary data to think tanks, news agencies and even the politicians themselves.
If anyone has some wise words or advice, or wants to tell me off, go ahead!
