Private Equity Internship Interview Process

I am a junior at a non-target. I have a few phone calls set up with MM PE firms as well as one in-person meeting that I got through a connection.

What can I be expecting from these conversations? Do phone calls usually get technical or do they tend to hover in the more industry/personal related areas?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!

I would know the following: 1. Why PE 2. What do PE firms look for 3. How is PE different than VC? 4. What is an LBO? 5. What companies have good characteristics for an LBO?

I wouldn't expect technical questions if you structured your meeting as more of an initial informational interview, but having a working knowledge of the most basic concepts would be advantageous. Look into the companies, know their platforms, and recent acquisitions. This would be a decent starting point at least.
