Pull of Different Referrals

I know there are a million threads on the topic of referrals from the inside and how they work, but is there such thing as a referral strong enough to almost guarantee an offer? I know VP/MD referrals are huge but you're on your own in the super day if that takes you there. What about referrals from global heads and above? Are those just as heavy in weight or does it be factored in on the round table post superday?

Reason Im asking is to see if shooting some shots up the totem pole is worth it to go that high up
