Question about traveling to new york for interview (parking)
Hi I have an interview coming up in Midtown. The firm isn't paying for travel. I'm located in Pittsburgh. I can take an amtrak for $79 each way or drive. What would you recommend? If I drive is it better to stay in the city or outside in hoboken/jersey and take the train in?
Thanks!
Parking in the city is a bitch, especially during the day. Midtown has probably got to be one of the busiest sections of the city so it will be near impossible to find a free parking spot or even a metered spot that will let you park for 1+ hours. You can park your car in the garage for $20-$30 if you get in anywhere from 7-10AM for about 12 hours.
I would opt for the train if you’re coming from that far. Drive your car to the Amtrak station and just park it there.
