Raymond James S&T

I have a first round interview coming up with RJ in NYC and was curious if anyone here has any insight into the firm. Has anyone interviewed with the firm? in this department specifically? And any other knowledge you might think would be useful to know going into an interview would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

No info but congrats on landing an interview so late in the game -- best of luck.

FT... I know it's late that's why I really want to kill the interview so I'm not out of options now that most recruiting has dried up.

Best Response

When I interviewed with them for a research analyst position they asked the basic questions such as financial statements, basic information on the company, why RJ, what interests you in the field, etc. I can't comment on the actual interview process for the S&T division, but I would assume it is in line with most S&T interviews.

The one thing I can comment on is the environment there. I have a friend whose a MD on the equity side and he really enjoys working there. The people I've spoken with are all friendly and he's told me its a great place to get your foot in the door to learn. Overall they are a great shop in my opinion and if you can find yourself the right mentor you'll learn a lot since a few of his buddies all have long outstanding careers in the field. Although this response may seem vague, my impression of the firm has been a strong one which is only amplified by the fact he's been there for years and has no plans on leaving. Learn about the firm, study the markets (have a stock or two in mind), and show that you are hungry ready to hit the ground running on day one. If you have any other questions I might be able to answer I'd be more than happy to help (if possible).
