screwed? online app question
hi,
i've read on some threads that online apps are simply formalities for companies doing on-campus interviews...except for goldman?
i applied way back on the goldman sachs website because i didn't realize that they'd be visiting my school. turns out that goldman is recruiting from my school this week.
unfortunately, since i applied on their site a long time ago, my grades are slightly different (it's higher now), and so is my cover letter. i can't even edit or delete the online application, nor can i re-apply since they state that you cannot apply twice for a cycle.
so is it true that goldman won't even look at the resume drops at the school and just focus on the online apps?
as far as I know they look at both. at least that was the case at my school. they even stressed it that we need to apply in both ways.
why create more paperwork for yourself?
yes, TH73 is right..don't ignore any of them
thanks, th73 and donk33.
yeah, i'm not ignoring any of them, but was concerned about the inconsistencies between my online app gpa and current resume gpa. my gpa increased slightly more, so i was hoping they'd focus more on the career center resume drop rather than the online one...
that, and my current cover letter is way better than the one i used for the online application. i shouldn't have applied online so early. darn.
They definitely look at the campus ones too.. you have a better chance there.. just make sure its for the same division..
also.. higher grade would give you something to say during interviews...

Haha, funny story comes with that...
For me the application deadline was before the semester was over, and so I asked the recruiter from GS if it's possible to submit a new version of my resume at the semester's end (since I expected my GPA to go up significantly) He looked at me and said: "Are you gonna be a Rhodes scholar in December?" I didn't know what to say to that... and he said "So don't even bother."
...and that killed all my future interest in GS :)
