Semi-target Liberal Arts Interview
Hi chimps,
From what I’ve read so far, liberal arts undergrads can break into IB or S/T internships via exceptional interview skills. I am a rising freshman at a semi target university. Does anyone have experience interviewing as a liberal arts student? How did your diverse background better prepare you to solve problems on the job and how did you play to your strengths during the interview process. At this stage I’m still learning everything I can about the industry, any of your experience or advice is welcome! Thank you!
I'm currently a rising sophomore at a liberal arts (one of the NESCAC's) but was able to secure a great internship at a PE group this summer in NYC with a return offer. During my time here I've been networking as much as I can with anyone we work with at BB's, and I always ask them if applying from a liberal arts school is a disadvantage, and the consensus seems to be that it is not. Liberal arts candidates provide a different set of skills whether it be writing or being able to focus on more than one area. The only disadvantage would be not having a finance major or set of classes, which my school does not, in terms of interview prep.
Thank you!
