Siemens FLDP Internship Recruitment
Can anyone comment on Siemens’s FLDP internship recruitment? Do these programs differ greatly by office or region? I’ve heard that interviews will usually include a few case studies and I’m curious if anyone could weigh in on how they prepped for these or just the program as a whole.
I interviewed for the FLDP internship. First round on campus and then super day in Atlanta with team case comp/presentation and multiple 1on1 or 2on1 interviews. Mostly behavioral with only some technical questions. Location placement was going to be done in the spring.
I went through the Charlotte office recruitment last spring (sophomore year). The Charlotte office was focused on the products that the specific plant there produced ie. gas turbines. I never had any case studies, just a bunch of behavioral questions. Most people interviewing me were German so be aware of cultural differences, but all in it was pretty easy.
Interesting point about the interviewers. Do you know if they were based in Charlotte or had flown in? Also, was the super-day recruiting for the upcoming summer or the following summer? I was under the impression that recruitment started early in the fall for the following summer's intersnhip.
I believe the Charlotte office only recruits from 2 schools. Every interviewer was full time in Charlotte and did not fly in. The Siemens program in Charlotte is rotational every 6 months, so they wanted me to start in June at the end of sophomore year and basically stay there till I graduated. Every 6 months you would rotate to a different business line. The late recruiting may have just been for the Charlotte office.
I interned at Siemens as an FLDP intern last summer. The recruiting process consisted of an on-campus interview and then a second round in Alpharetta, Georgia. You spent one day in the office. There was a case or two that you did with groups and 3 interviews.
Thanks for this! Did you prep for the case studies at all prior to the super-day or did you just wing it with your team? I'm a little newer to the world of being flown out to interviews so it's hard to know what to expect. Had you spent much time getting to know the recruiters at campus events? Unfortunately for me, Siemens doesn't recruit at my school but I've had some success reaching out to alums. Please feel free to PM me with anything you might not want to make public.
I didn't prep for the case study (didn't know there was one). It wasn't too difficult. They came to my school and I met them at a career fair but that didn't really matter once you get to Alpharetta. The first night you're in they host a dinner where you can meet some of the employees and interviewers. I believe they release the names of who's interviewing you before this so definitely try to seek these people out. I ended up hitting it off with one of the guys who turned out to be interviewing me the next day. Since he already liked me, the interview was easy and we mainly talked about football.
Was curious how these programs compared in terms of salary and intern offer conversion rate as well.
