Special Servicing -> REIB?
So I just received a summer offer from a special servicing group out of Dallas, but I'm looking ahead to junior year internships and I was wondering if special servicing is a good thing to have under my belt when I go looking for REIB internships next year. Anyone know anything?
I think it would be very valuable to have some workout/distressed asset experience if you're interested in eventually ending up in REIB since Special Servicing is basically the work out group. I think it depends on which special servicer you're looking at, i.e. a bank group or a group like a C-III, CW Capital, etc. I think you'd get a lot more practical experience from C-III/CW-type firms than a bank.
