Start up HF human element

Hi all - involved with a start up HF and if I were to use the Julian Robertson set of traits he mentioned he looks for - smart, honest and competitive - curious how you would gauge those three traits? (assuming you were an allocator evaluating us). Smart - I'd imagine a clean message around a differentiated strategy with a track record that backs it could handle much of that. How would you assess "honesty" and "competitiveness" though? Thank you for your thoughts!
