Stifel vs William Blair
Hi say you were to have FT IBD Analyst offers (London) from both these investment banks, could someone explain who they would choose and why? Which is currently performing more strongly? Which would have better exit opps? Pay? Lifestyle?
Understand most people won't be from London so feel free to comment at a more global/US perspective of the two firms.
Thank you
From what I’ve heard, WB is on a closer echelon to an EB while Stifel is a strong MM firm
WB more established in Europe from what I know. Not even close to EB though, operating in the MM space only.
Did you do an internship at WB, OP? From what I heard all first-years come through the internship.
Thanks for the comment both.
Pappingfanda - I did not, I did an IBD internship at GS/MS/JPM and applied to WB through their webpage, have not got offers but in the recruiting process for both these just am unsure which would be my top preference, which is stronger/has better deal flow and which offers better exit opps.
Don't have any insights into Europe, but WB would be the clear choice in the states.
Thanks for the comment.
Any idea on what exit opps and comp are like at either of these?
In terms of Europe I wouldn't have a clue, but I know WB places well in Chicago PE in the MM space. Both pay street and I've heard Stifel has paid above at times but can't confirm.
