Wealth Management vs IB

Hey guys,

I'm applying for Morgan Stanley SA 2021 and I'm interested in both Investment Banking and Wealth Management, but I only would like to apply to one position. I know everyone on WSO (as well as the general public) says that Wealth Management is easier to get into than Investment Banking. However, looking at the minimum requirements for MS IBD and MS WM, Wealth Management has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.5 whereas IBD (as well as Capital Markets, etc) only has a min GPA requirement of 3.0.

Based on the gpa requirement, does that mean that WM is harder to get into than IB?

Also, I'm from a target school with ~3.5-3.6 gpa so would I have a easier time getting into IB over WM (Since my GPA would basically borderline for WM)?

Thanks!

Wealth management is significantly easier to get into, a GPA requirement does not dictate the difficulty of getting hired.
