Weed stocks

The Marijuana industry is expected to see exploding growth in October because of the legalization in Canada.
A lot of people I talk to say that everything is "priced in", yet some of the stock prices do not seem to reflect that.

Thoughts?

Yes, stock valuations are pretty insane in Canada cannabis. There's no way around that. If I were planning to trade the industry (1-2 year time horizons) I'd be pretty cautious. That said, investing for the long-term in this industry is still very much intact IMO. Everyone focuses on the industry's market size but the reality is that it's completely unknown but likely MUCH bigger than we think because there's an entire population of people who have never tried it or never considered it while it was in illegal status.

Consumer taste and perception will shift over time and that's the wild card. 5 years down, we might see a complete change in perception by people who used to swear against it and that's what I'm betting on. Those Asian moms who see it as the devil's lettuce might see it like ginseng down the line once you remove the social stigmas over time, and that's the real opportunity that's not captured by forecasts

Yeah I agree with you on most points. That being said, a lot of people are just marijuana as a smoking product and are not really taking into account the medical applications. Also some companies are trading at pretty good prices right now.

Haha, idk if this is 5 years down the road. My dad was pretty clear that he is going to disown me if I touch pot with a 10 feet stick. Pretty sure most asian parents put pot on the same level as heroin or some shit like that.
