Wells Fargo Charlotte Exit Opps

Will be doing my SA at WF's Charlotte office in one of their top groups in terms of deal flow. Buyside placement is decent from what I hear. However, I really want to work in NYC long term and I'm not sure where most of these people end up geographically. Will I still get looks from NYC PE firms and headhunters (mainly targeting MMs) or do most Charlotte analysts end up at regional shops?I know non-NYC analysts in general tend to have a hard time since they are at satellite offices, but since Wells has its IB practice split roughly 50/50 NY/CLT, I was wondering if it might be a different situation. Would I be better off switching to an NYC group for FT, even one with less dealflow/reputation ? Thanks!
