What do I tell HH if I don’t want to recruit

Just started as a 1st year analyst at top BB coverage group — I’m not interested in recruiting on cycle in my first year and so wanted to get people’s advice on how to convey this to HH’s?

For those who waited to recruit, did you just flat out tell HH’s over e-mail that you’re not interested? Or did you hop on the phone and convey this? I don’t want to burn any bridges and want to stay in touch with HH’s so any insight would be appreciated!
