Yeah that's what I thought as well. But on the chance I am accepted, I'll probably take the target if it means some of my previous connections break it off with me. Thanks

Agree with above. Also, starting to network your freshman year is quite early. I didn't start until fall of my sophomore year and most people said I was pretty early still. You do you in terms of networking, but I would wait.

Second this. December- February of sophomore year to start seems to be the sweet spot. Any earlier might have a harder time keeping in contact when recruiting kicks off

Thanks for the networking advice! I'll probably still network but I guess I won't be overtly aggressive with it.

I transferred after my sophomore year into junior year. Tbh most people don't care as long as you can explain why or just come up with a random reason that doesn't include "the school doesn't place well into IB" or "its bad". I had no issues at all speaking to alumni at my former school. For people you already know I doubt they would care since everyone has to make decisions. Plus I'm assuming you plan to transfer to a target or semi-target so you'll have better networking opportunities there anyways. Plus you're only going to be a freshman. Its very had to keep in touch with your contacts for the next 2 years for a SA position as most people you know at analyst will probably have left. So I'd say go for it and don't worry at all. I was able to transfer, keep connections, but make more meaningful and helpful ones at my new school to land an SA position.

Thank you very much! I'll keep that in mind if I get the chance to transfer. Wouldn't want to completely burn off any bridges.
