Would you rather intern for competitive return offer or for easy return?
Would you want to join an intern cohort where 30% receive return offers were super competitive and highly compensated (think 20% premium) or a team that gives out 80% return offers but is average?
If we're talking analyst years in nothing but a pure vacuum, expected value would tell you to take the latter. But in reality, such a competitive group would likely have better exit ops (it's that competitive for a reason). That being said, I'd take the latter because I am naturally more risk averse with this kind of thing.
Easy return and lateral. Boom
