Commercial Banker to Broker

I am a fairly successful banker in Los Angeles producing approx 100 million a year. My income has been in the 250k range but I cant get much higher due to comp plan. Im looking to switch over to the broker side to source debt. I have a book of clients but understand that I'm switching from a gatherer to hunter mentality. Frankly im bored with my job and I have no exposure to anything but vanilla permanent financing. Im interviewing at a few broker shops and would appreciate any feedback. My gut says I should avoid a boutique shop because I do need a little mentoring to fully understand the debt placement transaction. Please go easy on me, first time post!
