Sell-Side

The phrase ‘sell-side’ refers to companies that are in the business of selling others, rather than buying them. Investment banks are part of the sell-side as one of their primary roles is to advise other firms on mergers, acquisitions and takeovers. The sell-side includes equity researchers, investment banks and brokers.
