List of BB and Boutique Investment Banks
I did a search already on the firm to see if there is a thread with a list of investment banks.
I am in NYC.
I was wondering if there is a list of the BB banks, and boutique banks. I think this will be helpful.
TIA
Come on man! Try Google, Wikipedia, etc. Should take you less than 30 seconds. You're lucky I'm in a good mood.

I think this is what you are looking for: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/regional-boutiques
^ thanks thats exactly what I was looking for.
Is there anything here for P.E and V.C?
trying to prep myself to know which firms to apply to.
my summer risk management internship is coming to an end soon.

PE and VC is a lot harder and it's going to require you to do a good amount of DD. There are some lists that get sold that cost in the $100s (that I've seen), so if you want to spend that as opposed to investing time in it you can.

Extensive List of Banks (Originally Posted: 08/01/2011)
A few months back there was an extensive list posted of most every Boutique IB. I have been searching past posts and cannot seem to find it anywhere. If someone has it and would mind posting it sending me a PM I would be very gratefull.

This one is not separated by regions but does have contact info for quiet a few banks:

Any thoughts on creating a permanent FAQ for this? It seems that this comes up every few months.
Every bank? Or specific region? I have nearly all of them (I think) with most of the contact info.
If you could post a list for SF, that would be much appreciated
Thanks everyone, this is a phenomenal resource that is greatly appreciated. I was wondering if anyone has advice for someone applying to boutique IB's this fall. Do you recommend a mass application strategy with a generic cover letter or maybe targeting 50-100 and writing a more personal cover letter for each?

From what I have heard, cold calling seems to work better than emailing so you might want to consider doing that as well.

I'm a junior at a nontarget. I know the chances of being accepted into a BB are miniscule at best, so I want to focus all of my efforts on boutiques. Please add any banks you can think of to the list below.
Stephens, Inc. Lazard Ltd. Evercore Stifel Nicolaus Jefferies Raymond James Greenhill Piper Jaffray

Here, take a gander

Also, many of those "botiques" you list are just as hard, if not harder, to get into as BB.
This. Look at regional boutiques in your area. Also it is worth at least reaching out to alumni at the BBs.
Also look at middle market, regional, and 'non IB' firms: a lot of commercial banks and insurance companies have banking/trading/research/brokerage divisions that often started out as independant firms.
What part of the country are you from
I'm in Midwest..
And thanks for that link, exactly what I was looking for
Boutique firms list? (Originally Posted: 12/22/2009)
Hi, Could anyone share the method to find boutique banks in different region? I think I saw a post about looking up on capital IQ but couldn't locate it... Thanks !
It's right above this thread in the i-banking section. It's stickied at the top.
2nd thread from the top
List of ibanks (Originally Posted: 10/01/2006)
Can any1 provide with a list of ibanks (preferably in NY)?
what different type of ibanks categories are there? (like BB, mid-size, etc)? Please disregard the first question (the one above this).
Bulge Bracket Middle Market and Boutiques
is there a large difference in the pay betweem these categories
depends on location, but no most of them are within 5K of each other
All-in pay at some middle market and boutiques could be 20% to 40% lower than at a top middle market or boutique and any BB firm. That's why you you will work 20% to 40% less.
How much would I make at a summer with AG Edwards? 15k?
You're in the ballpark. Maybe a little high.
List of Boutiques and MM firms (Originally Posted: 07/10/2013)
Can anyone suggest a list of MM and/or boutique firms? I am graduating from a non-target school in the south; I have a good resume and solid intern experience.
Do you have Capital IQ or Bloomberg access at your school?
In addition to the usual suspects (elite boutiques and BBs), I would recommend looking into the following firms, who are all solid middle markets. Capiq can serve you in building this out further:
Stifel Nicolaus Weisel Raymond James Greene Holcomb and Fisher (sponsors focus) Lazard Middle Market William Blair Piper Jaffray Robert Baird Stephens
Check out our Company Database: //www.wallstreetoasis.com/wso-company-database
Can filter by industry, keyword, zip code, etc...
You must have a really sick southern swoop
I've actually steered clear of the southern swoop, but thanks for the help
