If you're still on the internship hunt, no worries - lots of boutique investment banks wait to do their hiring until the Spring. Check-out the list of banks that I put together for potential leads and a Q&A video below.
I recently joined the WSO team in September to run Wall Street Mentors, and our goal is to provide the members of WSO the ability to receive personalized job search help, mentoring, interview prep from professionals that have 10+ years at top finance firms (Goldman Sachs, Bain Capital, Morgan Stanley, McKinsey, etc.).
Since joining, I've been working on compiling a comprehensive list of investment banks to help WSO members that are trying to identify the right investment banks and/or aggressively network. I started with a list of ~1,200 banks exported from CapitalIQ, and I whittled it down to what I thought seemed to be the top 200.
For groups 1&2, I simply provide a link to the bank's career website. Perhaps the most valuable part of this list is the information I provided for group 3. For this group, I went onto the website of each bank and tried to gather as much information as possible:
Website Office Locations Senior Member at the Firm Email address Phone # (many of them are direct dials so be ready if you call!)
If you are seeking to expand your job search to regional boutiques, this list is a great place to start the process.
It was no small task going through this list, so I'm sure that there's plenty of room for improvement. Please let me know if I missed any banks, included outdated information, etc. I'd love input to improve this list.
If you want some help from an experienced investment banking professional, you should check out Wall Street Mentors. Feel free to email our team at [email protected] with any feedback on this list or requests for help with your job search or to see if any of our mentors would be a good match for you.
Also, if you want to see the banks in your location, you can simply use the "search function" and type in your city's name while still on this forum.

Income Inequality, Is It UnavoidableIncome inequality, a topic that gets discussed a lot here.
I've been reading up on it, namely books and a lot of articles. Would like to hear other's thoughts on it.
My main thought is, would it be unavoidable? I feel there are two classes of people with money. Basically,...
What Daily Habits Do You Have That Have Improved Your Life The Most?I've found that having a routine and doing certain things have made me much happier and more productive at work. It could be anything, for example things I do that I think would benefit everyone are: read, work out, listen to podcasts instead of music and journal.
I'm trying to...
What Field Are You And in What Broad Region? The reason I ask this is because some areas are harder to find jobs in and I found a job in an area that does not have too much.
**I currently work in VC in the LA area.**
NOBODY has to get specific if they are uncomfortable. If you want to name your city, state, or even country, make it...
Effective LP oversight of GPFor deals that aren't going exactly as planned, what's an LP to do? I'm curious if anyone has examples of when LP's have had a positive influence on the ultimate outcome of a project, even if they were just pref equity and didn't have much legal standing in the operating...

AMA: Big 4 -> Military Officer -> Top 10 MBAHello!
I’m new to the WSO community and received an email to do an AMA. I’ll be honest, I rarely open myself up to anyone in person, much less online. But, I do this in the spirit of paying it forward. Hopefully my journey can help others in this community.
Brief background: BS...
Thoughts on LMM Fund in Small CityI would like to get your input on my situation and offer.
I'm currently a third year at a top MM IB in a major city. Was late to recruiting so I've been doing off-cycle. I've received an offer from a lower MM (250-500m fund size) PE shop that has a solid track record and is...

TN Visa success/failuresThe threads for TN Visa after the USCIS memo has gone quiet. Be interested to hear, even anecdotal evidence on success / failure of Canadian ibankers getting into the US for ibanking under the TN Visa.
Would be good to describe: experience level, type of bank (BB/EB/MM, etc); type of TN...
