Bullets not paragraphs dude. And get rid of your letter grades and replace it with a GPA. Then we can talk
And if your only technical skills are Microsoft Office, you don't have technical skills. Personally I would take that line out all together
if you actually watch bloomberg for fun... take some time to think about what's actually fun. also, saw beach conservation in activities and thought it said beach conversation. made me lol at 7:30 am
reads boring and obsessed with the stock market. Not somebody that I would want on my team.
not gonna list your gpa? uh oh
Bullets and don't show your grades
Holy crap this resume is terrible. Take out the sections of the CFA, everyone knows those no need to take up space with it.
Is "Adult Baseball" some kind of porn?
If so, what channel is it on?
I think you should consider delaying graduation, picking up a relevant major/minor, and getting an internship. It's pretty easy to notice that you probably got "interested" in finance during Christmas break or something.
lol wow, thank you everyone who gave me advice and called me out. I knew it sucked (still might suck)
Here's my new one: http://www.razume.com/documents/24843
Much better?
@FSC: I was going to do that but I figured I could save money and advance further by taking the CFA and proving I have the financial knowledge/skills even with a History degree? Good idea? I'm aiming for an internship now because I doubt I'm going to become an analyst with no experience. And it may come off as a fad of liking finance but I really do love it regardless of what anyone thinks.
And if I can't land an internship (been getting interviews even with crappy resume) , what do you guys suggest I should do? I've already been networking extensively as well but it hasn't resulted in much as of yet.

holy cow, remove that 2.9 gpa and list your major gpa instead if latter is higher...
cfa lv 1 proves little. i think you will be better off with an extra year. you can do some school year internships and that stacks up quick on your resume.
buy the guides from wso or biws
if you want some pwm exp, go sign up for your internship class and you will get one either from ml or ubs.
did you attend the saturday event your investment club set up couple of weeks ago? hope you got a better idea of what's going on
Are you talking about the Horizon Conference? Yeah, I was there, it was very informative and spoke with a couple people. I spoke with Rady as well and left him an e-mail after the event asking for an informational interview. No response.
What about actually passing Level 1? Minimal impact? And what internship class? Are you talking about internships that are posted on the career website? I've applied to a lot of those and still waiting to hear back on some of them.
That's a good idea, to purchase those guides (I've already bought Vault guide but it was worthless)
btw do you go to UCSD too?
cfa lv 1 is not a deal breaker. your exp speaks for itself. and for pwm, cfp is more valuable than cfa. i suggest you start doing anything with those certificates AFTER you score a job
i'm talking about the academic internship program... looks like you don't even know this shit...
you have to pay NOTHING to access vault guides. school already paid for that. all you need to do is accessing them through career web site. you tell me you really "bought" them... wtf?????
i'm not from ucsd, but i graduated from the same college system
