How to build my network of fellow investors in growth

I'm looking to meet other growth equity associates to be able to exchange deal flow eventually as relevant and mutually advantageous (don't know anyone in this industry yet and need to start developing a sold group of other investors my age to get rich together - jokes aside need the network at this level).

I've been cold emailing and in normal times I'd go find people like me to get drinks, talk shop for a while, expense the evening, and have a good drinking buddy (did this in my old LBO job with bankers which was a blast). Now I'm more relying on other investors because I'm in an unbanked world (late venture type growth).

For example, I emailed like 4-5 people over the weekend. I realize it's early but it strikes me as unusual nobody has gotten back. Do I even bother trying again with these guys in a couple days? Seems unusual to me to have to beg for the conversation, it's not like I'm trying to sell anything or persuade a management team to take my money.

Overall I suppose I could use some guidance on developing relationships with other investors as I'm new to the unbanked space (it's not "strictly business" as clearly so as when getting beers with bankers). I'm at a small shop and don't want to look like an idiot to my boss so asking here. Thanks.
