Interview
After passing an online assessment, was invited to an 90 min (45 behavioral, 45 technical) interview. Behavior focused on why IB and why this bank specifically, and some more general questions. Technical involved discussion of multiples and DCF, in depth. Interview was quite intense in my opinion -- i.e., the interviewer interrupts you and challenges you -- but not supremely difficult.
Interview Questions
Why IB instead of both types of consulting (DD and strategy)?

Good. Other than the fact that they took a while to get back to me after applying and did the assessment, the interview was good and the process was decent. First CV, then assessment, then 2 back to back 45 minute interview. 1 for personality, one technical.

First you receive numerical tests, which can be practiced for online. If you score better than 70% of applicants, you are invited for an interview. The interview consists of 2 45-minute interviews with an analyst and an associate, back-to-back. The first 45 minutes focus on your motivation and the second focus on technical questions.
Interview Questions

Interview
The interview process was very standard. Asked the typical cookie cutter questions: Why the firm? Why the role? Why you? Asked about the current state of the leverage loan and high yield bond market and tested some simple LBO questions, such as the different tranches of debt the can be used, really focusing on the covenants that would be in place e.g. maintenance and incurrence covenants etc.
Interview Questions
The most unexpected question was when they asked me follow up questions on how to take into account a RCF in a debt schedule for a LBO. Other than that typical DCF/LBO relevant questions, walk me through, how do you go from EBITDA to FCF etc.

After CV screening you get an invite to a psychometric test from Cubiks.
If you pass the test (70%+ percentile score) you receive an invitation to the two interviews.
First, I had a 45 min motivational interview with an Associate and an Analyst. Right after I had another 45 min technical interview with a Director and an Analyst.

If the test score > 70% you have 2 interviews (one motivational and one technical)

Both interviews last 45 minutes and are held by 2 associates (4 in total). The fit interview is really about how much you want to work in amsterdam.
The technical one was the typical m&a interview, always the same questions, quite basic.
Interview Questions
