Interview
I had two interview processes, one with the recruiting firm Dartmouth Partners and one superday with Senior Associates and VPs at Allianz Global Investors. The first interview was a video interview with DP which was slightly challenging as I did not know what to expect and was sometimes asked about the insurance industry out of the blue. Other than that, everything else was really straight forward. I'd argue my interview with the AllianzGI interviews was much simpler and it ended up being a conversation with one of them as I go to a school in the midwest and he went to the rival school.

1. How would you pursue institutional investors in making investments in Emerging Markets considering various other issues present?

The process was fast tracked as they were looking to hire an intern for Q1 initially before settling for Q2. I received a call directly from one of the senior members of the Credit Research team and set up a 1-1 interview for the next week. The interview was over Teams and lasted around 1 hour. Most of the questions were related to my previous internship experience, what I did and how it would translate to CR. Having good IT skills in VBA/SQL will be looked on very favorably. Not too many technicals, just recent market trends and a question on Z-scores.

Interview Questions
nothing super unexpected - just make sure you have your story straight, they're very open to clarifying more about the program and it's very flexible to your goals as well. the case study for my track had quite a vague prompt so I wasn't sure initially whether I was going in the right direction, I went for a creative solution without thinking a ton about feasibility but it worked out fine. overall, the entire process is very focused on your raw abilities (from numerical test to the assessment center team activities) and learning more about you as a person
