The interview lasted 3 hours and 15 min:

45min basic skills test, comprised of 20% company knowledge (name the C-suite folks, where are the hubs, about how many cities and flights are operated per day), 50% accounting basic concepts (calculating EBIT, EBITDA, net income, ROA, ROE, is the bond issued at premium, discount, or par), and 30% case-based/industry questions (1: gives you the average price of route 1 and route 2 for (2) years - both increasing, but shows an average total price decrease y-o-y, how could this be? 2: gives you a prompt with a flight route and some contextual info, then asks you to determine how many business class and main cabin seats you'd choose for a plane, and generally asks you what other considerations are important when selecting an aircraft for a route).

45min interview with someone on leadership team: asks standard behavioral questions (walk through resume, why american, why finance, tell me a time when you solved a problem analytically, tell me a time when you were on a team and you didn't achieve the goal and what did you learn? etc.)

1 hour lunch

45min interview with someone on leadership team: asks finance/industry related questions (how would you determine a new route to fly, how would you select the aircraft, is route from city A to B profitable, what sort of non-cash expenses are common for a major carrier, would you take on debt or issue new shares for a project, why would you want to buy back shares of stock)

Interview
After applying online I was contacted about completing an assessment. After deciding on a time, I was sent the assessment, and had 30 minutes to complete it. It was a standard assessment with critical thinking and analysis type questions. After passing that I had a basic behavioural phone interview. From there I had two interviews back to back on campus, one 1 on 1 and one 2 on 1. Both contained light analysis questions, like "American airlines gives out cookies on some flights, how would you estimate how many cookies given out in a month". If uncomfortable with critical thinking questions, doing some before beginning the assessment would definitely help.
Interview Questions
Several analysis questions like "You own a pizza shop, last year you sold 3 pizzas for an average price of $10, this year you sold 4 pizzas for an average price of $8. After checking your numbers at the end of the year you see your sales increased by 10%. Are you happy with this year? What other information would you want to know? If you wanted to improve revenue, what steps would you take? After that I was asked if I had to pick any brand to represent myself, what would I pick and why. Several standard behavioral questions as well.

Interview
The employee called me on the evening. I couldn't pick up and called back 10 minutes later. He wanted to schedule with me a phone interview. He asked me for available times and I said Wednesday would be best in the AM. He said that he was just going to ask me about my work experience, why AA, and why that group.

On the interview day he actually asked me technical questions and strategic questions. What are the main financial statements? If I were on an island which 1 financial statement would I choose? Parts of the CFS?

Other Q's: Why AA? What are some threats for AA in the next 5 years?
Interview Questions
