What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Two 30 minute case interviews.
Bain hosted a case interview workshop for all invited interviewees the week prior.
As for the interview, one case followed a very basic format discussing a merger and the impact of a policy that was to be implemented. This dealt with market segmentation, sizing, and looking into revenue prospects. The second case was more abstract and discussed what the future potential of an invention was. This was very open-ended with no numbers.
The first interviewer was incredibly supportive and gave a structured case interview. The second interviewer came from as the opposite - very unstructured with no expected outcome, and perceived as snobbish due to his service in the military, and a generational disconnect. He was not the type of person I expected to meet in the company, and left a negative impression for me.
