It was a smooth interview! Two back to back 30-minute interviews with a partner and associate partner. Overall I did well with pretty light prep and interviewers were super nice!

3 hours of interview in total, 1st hour is 1:1 case study. Get a very basic profitability case for a beauty product company. Second hour is a 1:1 behaviour interview. Very classical questions, for example, what would you do in xxx situation. Final hour is a 1:1 market sizing question, I was asked to estimate the annual income of a cinema.

The process is not stressful, however, I was rejected after the first round. I have not prepared well, I failed to answer some of the basic business acumen questions the interviewer asked, for example, the case study is about a beauty company, and the interviews asked me: if we are going to launch new projects next year, at which period will you do that? The right answer is winter, because there are more festivals in winters so people are more likely to spend more money.
Interview Questions
The case study is about a company produce beauty product, for example, lipsticks, eyeshadows... etc.
here is the question: If we are going to launch a new product, would you recommend us to do it in winter, summer, autumn or spring.

Interview
Applied online and heard back a couple weeks later to set up the interview. Interview process consisted of back to back case interviews. Each interview lasted 30 minutes, with the first 25 minutes being the case and the last five minutes being a brief behavioral interview (why Bain, why consulting, etc). My first case was a standard market size, and my second case was a profitability case. The interviewers were friendly but both of them jumped into the case immediately without much time for introductions. The cases weren't super difficult, but it meant that the interviewers expected out of the box thinking and creativity, not just getting to the answer.
Interview Questions
While the case interview itself wasn't super difficult, be prepared to be asked to explain further or provide more examples when giving answers. For example, in the profitability case, any time you are brainstorming or listing various ways to cut costs or increase revenue etc, the interviewers will push you to explain the mechanisms behind your answers or to provide more examples. Be ready to think on your feet and only offer examples that you can back up with an explanation.
