General Interview Information
Interview Details
1) Standard behavioral questions. Focus on bp’s values (e.g. environment, safety).
Round 2 90-Min Technical Case Study:
1) No behavioral questions; interviewer was not a trader and seemed unsure of the specific TDP group (trading, commercial, analytics). They began by stating interview despite being slotted for 90 minutes would only take 60.
2) Format: 3 cases. For each:
• 10 min: Read case
• 10 min: Present answer + follow-up questions
• Expect prompts to dive deeper
• Allowed to use a calculator and scratch paper
• Tip: Ask clarifying questions early and tie answers to bp’s values.
3) Cases:
• Storage & Supply/Demand:
Given storage diagram and supply/demand tables for Countries A & B (monthly). Calculate net values for each month in the country (e.g., Demand 500 – Supply 300 = -200). Consider that B’s supply flows via A’s pipeline and storage tanks.
• Geopolitical Risk: Analyze risks and how to mitigate these risks of entering a new market in an unstable region. Make sure to discuss safety risks.
• Commodity Pricing: Calculate a single price for Country D over several months. Compare with its current supplier’s monthly pricing.
