What did the interview consist of?

1 on 1 Interview

Please describe the interview / hiring process.

I had a friend that worked at CAPS Payroll. She passed along my resume for a position similar to hers, which she had started several months earlier, as a payroll clerk. I received a call from her manager who seemed very professional and we set up an interview for the following week. The office atmosphere seemed relaxed. I felt overdressed wearing a complete suit and tie. The manager was the only one conducting the interview. He seemed a lot more laid back than I thought he would. I was not incredibly interested in the position, so it was more of an informational interview for me. I probably could have gotten the position, but I made it obvious that it was not really where I wanted to be as there were no opportunities for growth in my preferred field.
