I applied online through Citi's career portal for their Capital Markets Origination (CMO) division Summer Analyst Position in Hong Kong, while I am based in Singapore. I was invited to the first round phone interview 2 weeks later.
30 Minutes prior to the interview, the interviewer sent me an email with 4 financial news articles and an instruction document to read through and prepare for a discussion during the interview. It was unclear if I had to discuss all or just one, and in the end it was just one.
I was asked to talk about the implications of the news content on financial markets, and to Citi and the CMO division specifically.
