My first round interviews were conducted over the phone. There were two interviews, each lasting about 30 - 45 minutes. Both interviewers were mid-level associates (I think) and went through basic competency questions (name a time when you failed, when you were a leader, etc.). One interviewer asked a few basic market questions (current price of 10-year U.S. treasury note, for example). Both were quite nice, and there were no trick questions. I was informed later that same day that I was invited to the AC.

At the AC there were around five other candidates. The day started with a numerical test, exactly like the one that you do at home. Then there were two interviews. The interviewers were all high level and not as nice as my previous interviewers, although this may have been just to test my reaction. Questions were mostly fit, CV and some general market and investment knowledge. There were no brainteasers or complex questions about specific financial products. The interviews were followed by an individual case study that we then had to present to another interviewer. The AC ended with a group problem-solving activity.

I was impressed by the professionalism I encountered at every step of the recruitment process, but it seems like the culture depends completely on the specific people you end up working with.
