General Interview Information
Interview Details
The superday was a "speed-dating" style in which all candidates (half a dozen of us) were seated at different desks in the same room, and then the interviewers came in to interview us. There were 5 interviewers ranging from associates to an MD. It was strange having other candidates in the room listening to your responses, though do you get used to it quickly and it isn't too distracting after the first few minutes.
The questions seemed to be more technical and fast-paced for some of the younger interviewers (think probability questions, making markets on a dice game), and more behavioral for the older interviewers who cared more about my fit on the desk than my ability to think on my feet. Overall it was a good mix of questions ranging from average difficulty to above-average difficulty.
I wasn't a huge fan of the culture - for a firm that survived only by the grace of the US taxpayer, most of my interviewers didn't seem to be too humbled by their near-collapse and some even came off as arrogant. This came in contrast to the interviewers I met at 2 other BB superdays (1 rejection, 1 offer).
Finally, the fact that they had us all in one room sitting at tables better suited for beer pong than superday interviews gave off a slightly unprofessional vibe. If nothing else, it signaled that they had better things to do than interview candidates. I didn't get this sort of "cheep" feeling anywhere else I interviewed.
