Summer Associate

Applied online via portal after my Summer Associate gig at another bank was canceled. Hear back from Citi about 2 weeks later. My interview was with an associate about 30 mins in length. First half of the interview was behavioral 2nd half technical.

Qualitative/Behavioral:

Walk me through your resume. Why [MBA Program]? Why IB? Why Citi? Why Industry Group?
What skills do you have/did you develop that are applicable to doing this job/being an associate?
What stands out about Citi?
Tell me about a time you faced a personal challenge or difficult situation. How did you deal with it?

Technicals:
Basic valuation questions (3 main, walk me through a DCF)
What are some deals you have been following in the industry?
Whats a company in the industry you like but I probably haven't heard of?
What are some industry trends you have observed?
A company with $100M of EBITDA and a leverage ratio of 2.0 decides to purse a $200M dividend
recapitalization using $200M of debt. The debt carries a 5% interest rate and the tax rate is 40%.
What is the new leverage ratio?
