Interview Details

What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Get hold of campus recruiter back in June and then went to the career fair at MSU in Sep. Got the first round on-campus interview after a week and the interview consists of two partners back-to-back interview. The interview is mostly conversational, since I believe those partner are really tired of asking behavior questions and they just want to know you. Get an email the second day( most people said if you do not get it within two days, you are in trouble, and I believe it is true). Then I schedule the office visit. The office visit consist two manager interview and a lunch with a senior staff. Here is the different and where I thought I did wrong. Those managers really do not care about what you did ( I opened a restaurant and operate it myself for two years, those two partners are really impressed by this but seems like managers do not give a sh*t). They focused on behavior questions and I think if you get two partner interview during your second round you will have a great chance of getting in, as long as those partners like you. And here is the most odds thing that I never heard about. I get a call the next week and I though I got an offer. Actually I was wrong, the recruiter said they need me to go back again (what?) for a third round. The same thing happened where those managers really lack of interest in you and seems like they really dont care what you have done. If I had to say one thing that I did wrong. I would say be yourself. Really, please remember what are those big 4 looking for, BUT, do not manipulate your answers according to a certain company's culture. This will make you a fake person, since what they really want is to let you talk about your way of doing things, not how should the company doing things. I end up with nothing besides my first round interviewer even ask the managing partner to meet me privately after my office visit!!!!!! Prepare your own answer, do not fake your actions to comply with a certain company culture, that will raise a flag that you are no really who you are.
