Interview Details

What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Presentation
Skills Test
Background Check
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Process was smooth and timely with hiring team driving timelines and ensuring all candidates were given feedback.
What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?
The final round was a conversational interview with the partners in the team and they were keen to know my take on some of PE houses and Buyers I'd worked with earlier (listed on the resume). I wasn't expecting that - I was prepared to talk about the deal and rationale for various parties but hadn't prepared for this - what helped was reading up on the sector and being updated on details such as the investor fund size, the vintage, their strategy for the region and some good bets they'd made - helped me take the conversation forward and the partners then chimed in with their views and experiences with the fund.
How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?
In the case study round, the interviewers mostly wanted to understand my rationale and foundational concepts which I was able to communicate clearly and correctly as I come from an accounting background and had prior work experience in M&A.
They had a few questions around terminal growth rate, WACC assumptions, EV vs. Eq.V as an output of the DCF and use of comps.

Overall Ranking

Overall Ranking is a score from 1 star (very bad) to 5 stars (excellent) generated based on the Company Reviews of current and former employees at this company, taking everything into account.

The number you see in the middle of the donut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few reviews). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.
