Business Technology Analyst

I applied for this position at Deloitte Consulting through on-campus recruiting. After the resume drop deadline, a recruiter reached out to me about scheduling an interview. The first round consisted of 2 separate 30-minute interviews. One was behavioral and the other was a case interview.

The behavioral interview was nothing out of the ordinary. They asked about interests, how I would react in certain situations, why I want to work for the company, etc. The case interview only consisted of one case question.

I received a call that same evening about a second round interview onsite the next day. I accepted the interview offer and had another case interview the next morning in the San Francisco office. My interviewer was a partner in the technology consulting group. While he had planned two case questions, we only discussed one, which had to do with data migration and data integrity. What really helped with this interview was knowing the systems development life cycle and tailoring those guidelines for the question. The partner was a prime example of an interviewer focusing on a candidate's reasoning and thought process, and was eager to discuss the benefits and pitfalls of any ideas I had while attacking the question.

I had been to the offices of other audit firms, namely PwC and E&Y, in San Francisco. The Deloitte office was by far the best in terms of promoting teamwork. I would say the receptionists and admins across the companies were all very similar though.
