Federal ERS Intern

I was initially offered an interview after applying through my school's career network and stopping by their table at the career fair. My on-campus interview consisted of two 30-minute interviews, one with a general manager and one with a partner. While the general manager asked me a few behavioral questions, the entire process was incredibly relaxed. It consisted primarily of me asking questions about the firm and them answering them. My partner interview was even more relaxed than with the manager. He basically spent 20 minutes describing all the "cool" things he did in Federal ERS (depreciation on military satellites, etc) and then we just chatted about the recruitment process for 10 minutes or so. The entire process felt more like they were convincing me to work for Deloitte than trying to determine whether I was a good fit.

After passing the on-campus interview, I was offered a round II interview at their federal office outside D.C. They paid for both my travel and lodging expenses, and (again) the whole process felt like they were trying to sell me on their company. Along with the other interns, I attended an hour-long presentation about Deloitte followed by lunch and another partner interview. At no point through the entire experience was I asked a single technical question. At one point I literally said "Wow I'm glad you guys aren't grilling me on debits and credits" and shared a chuckle with the interviewer. Overall, it was an incredibly positive experience unlike any other Big 4 interview I'd had.
