Interview
Initial communication was a coffee chat with employee from whom I then received a referral. Official process started off as a group with two interviewers for an hour then one-on-one interview. First part of the interview was mainly about my CV and generalist questions like 'Why M&A, why Deloitte, whats your biggest strength, what's something you did recently that you were proud of, why should we hire you, where do you see yourself in 5 years, talk about a recent transaction/deal you find interesting". Second part of the interview involved a case study aimed at probing knowledge of M&A deal cycles, rationale behind deal types and processes (PMI, carve-out, M&A) familiarity with general industry terminology (signing, closing, Transition Service Agreement) but also more specifically Deloitte's terminology on M&A processes. Was also asked about day one readiness, which departments are most important/critical after an acquisition. Hardest part was definitely firm specific terminology.
Interview Questions
Firm specific terminology - was tested throughout different stages of the m&a on the terminology and frameworks they use specifically on Deloitte. Was told this information is online.
