Very technical interview with tough questions. Toughest IB interview I've done (and I've interviewed with 20+ banks). It was a quick process which was nice however; interviewer said superdays were the week after but I got a couple techs wrong so I did not advance. However, I did not appreciate getting ghosted after my interview.
Interview Questions
1. $50MM EBITDA, $200MM debt tranche 1, $200MM debt tranche 2, what is each level of debt trading at? Equity value? What is stock trading at?

I reached out to one analyst who told me it was a very low-touch firm. I received a first round interview about 1 week after applying. It was a phone screen with very tough technical questions. One question asked how unsecured claims are treated in bankruptcy. Another was an M&A accretion dilution question. I struggled on the last one, so I believe I got cut. Overall, everyone was very nice though, and helped me through if I got a problem wrong.
Interview Questions
I don't remember the values, but it was asking me how you would deal with PIK interest if you paid it off before the debt was due
Without doing any math, approximate the YTM of this bond in 5 seconds (given maturity, coupon, trading price)

I did a first-round phone interview with the LA office. The associate who spoke with me was very unpleasant. He asked me odd questions like why I only got and took one offer during SA recruiting (why does that matter?) and scoffed at everything I said.
Interview Questions
Also asked what I would pursue if investment banking didn't exist.

Interview
I went through 3 separate phone screens, as well as 4-6 Zoom interviews. The questions were standard restructuring technicals like debt waterfalls, the impact of different accounting line items on the 3 statements, and reasons for bankruptcies. They were some of the sharpest and most pleasant people I interacted with throughout my recruiting process. I made mistakes on my technicals and they helped me reason through it.
Interview Questions
I got some fun mental math questions that others might not enjoy (square roots of obscure numbers, estimation questions).

Was very seamless and Ducera seemed to want to accelerate the recruitment process ahead of peers. 30-minute interview was 1-on-1 with a Director and comprised standard valuation questions (valuation methodologies, accounting walkthrough with PIK debt) and restructuring-specific questions (bond YTM given current price, coupon rate, and time to maturity, as well as a standard waterfall question). Last ten minutes was a casual conversation about restructuring trends and the firm culture in general.
Interview Questions

Interview kept getting pushed back to a later date. After being pushed back 1-2 months. the interview was technical heavy, and the interviewer gave the message that he/she did not want to be there. Felt very rushed throughout the interview.
