Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The process began with all of the big 4 accounting firms doing recruiting days at my school. I attend one of the top universities in the country for big 4 placement, so it seemed like every other week there was a firm that had a booth in our business building making contacts with students. Through these programs, and by going to the career fair, I networked and met people from within EY who could help me land an interview. I then applied on my schools career website and was selected for an on campus interview. EY rented out the whole career services building for the day and was interviewing a ton a kids. The interview started when I walked in the building and had to check in using my schools computerized career services check-in system. Within a minute of checking in I had a EY first year associate calling out my name. The person calling my name was my assigned greeter, who would end up sitting in the hallway with me for the 20 minutes that I waited to be seen by my interviewer. The time that you spend with the greeter is just as important as the interview. We just talked about off topic things and hit it off very nicely. I then had a one on one interview with a manager for 30 minutes where we mainly talked about happy hour and traveling. No questions were asked of me. About a week later I was informed that I was selected for an office visit. The office visit consisted of a 30 minute interview with a manager, followed by a 30 minute interview with a partner. They also took us out to a free lunch and had a 30 year partner tell us about his experiences with EY. The next day the partner who interviewed me called me to tell me that I got the job.
