General Interview Information
Interview Details
I requested San Jose, but was later pushed into San Francisco by the recruiter.
1st telephone interview consisted of "Tell me about yourself, why EY, strengths & weaknesses". They will want to go over portions of your resume that are related to valuations. Recommend going over your previous projects.
In-person interview in San Francisco. Met with 3 individuals: Senior Associate and 2 Senior Managers.
Mix of technical and "tell me about yourself" questions.
Technical:
1) What are some methods of valuing a company
2) What does terminal value mean?
3) What does WACC mean? [Not only calculation, but the meaning behind it]
4) What is CAPM, how do you calculate it, and what does it mean?
5) What are other methods of company valuations. i.e. Using royalties as cash flow thus using DCF.
6) How do you value a company using multiples?
I used ibanking materials to study for the interview.
The senior associate, the youngest person that interviewed me asked mostly technical questions.
