The number you see in the middle of the doughnut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few interview insights). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview

An alumni at the firm did an on campus info session and meet and greet that lead to me filling out an application. After applying, I was invited to a first round interview a few weeks later. The interview was a one on one zoom call with a recruiter from the firm that had only been there for two weeks. The questions were non-technical but the conversation itself was very poor. The interviewer never looked at me on the call except for here and there and was instead looking at her other monitor and typing the entire time. There was little to no conversational aspect of the interview and was instead just Q&A with little to no emotion or engagement from the recruiter.

Interview Questions

All questions were behavioral and the most difficult question was "what is one of your weaknesses"

Interview

I talked with a recruiter, who showed up ~5-10 minutes late and had a terrible attitude. She seemed bored out of her mind and asked the most basic questions. Why JMI, why growth equity, etc. The questions weren't hard; the hardest thing is hoping that that recruiter just ate lunch and is in a good mood. If you take a look at glassdoor, it seems that other people had a similar bad experience with her.

Interview

Initial zoom meeting with basic questions, and the interviewer was simply reading off a list and on her phone the entire time. It was honestly an extremely disrespectful process and I do not recommend applying here. I was asked the exact same question three times, and when I noted that I had already responded my interviewer shrugged.

The interview was very bland and the recruiter clearly did not want to interview me initially. Standard behavioral questions such as "Why Private Equity?", did not end up getting the job offer

Interview

HR reached out to schedule interview by Skype; although the time slots were thirty minutes the first round interview was very short (~10 minutes).

Interview Questions

Scheduled Skype interview with HR, there were no technical questions, only behavioral and even then not very thorough.

Tell me about yourself.

How did you do in your last summer internship, and what did you do?

If I followed up with your previous employer, how would previous employer rate your performance from a scale of 1 to 10?

Were there any issues/ what could you have done better?

What is a strength and a weakness?

Do you have any questions for us?

Which office do you prefer?

HR said that they would be getting back to me after the new year but I never heard back.

Interview

I know a few interns working at this place and I also know an analyst there. They referred my resume and I got a first round. After that, I was brought in for a Superday, which consisted of about 7 short interviews. Pure behavioral.

Interview Questions

Overall, the interviews were pretty easy. The hardest two questions were probably: 1). What interests you about private equity? 2). Why us? Since all the questions are behavioral based, you really want to stand out from the competition by acing these two questions and showing your strong interest and why it's a fit for you. My suggestion would be to go on the Company's website and read as much as you can about their business. It would also definitely help if you know a little bit about their portfolio companies so that you can namedrop them if needed and speak intelligently about them.
