Interview
First Round: Interview over the phone with HR. They ask you to describe your resume, describe past grades, general interests, why K1, why private equity
Second Round: First, SAT/ACT type assessment test. Test includes reading passages and answering quantitative and qualitative questions, as well as vocabulary fill in the blanks. This section is timed so you need to be prepared to move quickly. Second, is an untimed fit questionnaire where you fill in the blanks of what you would do in a certain situation or what words/scenario most describes you.
Interview Questions
The questions were very straight forward and not too challenging as long as one takes the time to prepare efficient and direct answers. Most of the first round questions are behavioral. The most difficult question that I was asked was to describe why I wanted to be involved in Private Equity and, more specifically, K1. This required some type of background knowledge of the Private Equity Sector and also knowledge of the company. Fortunately, this information can be found online by googling Private Equity or googling K1 Investments.

Phone Interview
Interview
Applied on their website, and was emailed by HR to set up a phone interview. After the HR interview I had a call with the hiring manager.
Interview Questions
First interview was a phone screen with HR. They asked why I was interested in private equity and why their firm. They also asked about my strengths and what I look for in a company. The interview process consisted of the HR phone screen, a second round phone interview with the group head, and then an in person interview. There was some time for questions at the end.
Second round interview was with the head of business development. He asked about my past experience and why I wanted to work at their firm. Also asked what made me a competitive candidate and what I would do if I didn't work in private equity.
