Interview
The interview was quite standard for the IB / PE world, but less technical. Maybe this was because I was interviewing for a VP role, but not sure if this is true also at Analyst / Associate level. In any case, they leave the more technical part to the following steps of the interview: excell modelling test and Q&A based on it.

Basiclly, the structure is as follow:
-A presentation from the interviewer of the Firm
-a drive through your CV
-a lot of motivational questions and real work examples on how you performed in you professional career (e.g. tell me an example were you learned quickly).

The heart of the interview is understanding your skills, what you have done and motivation for joining the platform (my case was the debt and special situation).
Interview Questions
What form of real estate financing do you know?
How would you finance a development? And a rented office?
Do you know the difference between preferred equity and mezzanine?
What do you know about our platform?
Where would you invest £100ml (within real estate)? What country and what asset class? Please explain why.
What is today Libor and what spread on a 60% LTV senior loan.
What is the average spread on a mezzanine?
What are in you view the most appeling real estate asset classes in the near future?

Phone Interview
Interview
Recruiter contacted me about two weeks after applying online to schedule phone interview. Subsequently emailed me to schedule additional phone interviews with team. I had a total of four phone interviews (recruiter, analyst, Managing Director, SVP). I was an out-of-town candidate, so I do not know if this was typical but then again everyone I talked to were each in different cities.

I realized I did not get the job prior to being notified because the day after my fourth phone interview, the job description was updated requiring more work experience (3-5 years). When I initially talked to the recruiter she told me I could not qualify for the position if I had over two years of experience because it is an entry level position. I did receive an email about a week after the last interview saying they were going to continue their search. Positive experience.
Interview Questions
Surprisingly, the analyst asked all of the technical questions. I do not know if he had a script but he did type all of my answers out. The other three phone interviews consisted of questions mainly about behavior, fit, and motives.

I had a phone interview with HR, then went into one of the firm's offices to interview with two VPs and one of their analysts.
